Medical and Behavioral Health Billing Specialist
Job Summary: The Medical and Behavioral Billing specialist is primarily responsible for utilizing the DrChrono EMR platform to ensure claims are processed and paid timely. This position will support one office with four to five providers. The responsibilities include reviewing claims, posting some payments, follow-up of accounts as well as answering patient calls and staff regarding accounts. This position may involve additional responsibilities as performance demonstrates capacity.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to work independently and have excellent problem-solving skills to be able to judge urgency of need for accurate results.
Familiar with data entry and Practice Management Systems.
Must have working knowledge of medical and behavioral health terminology and word usage to ensure accurate appointment scheduling and concise, detailed oriented performance to ensure optimum referral tracking and follow-up.
Highly organized and self-motivated
Ability to work with others in a team base setting. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and team members.
Must possess valid drivers’ license and have dependable transportation.
Education and Experience:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Billing Certification is a plus.
Minimum of one to three years of experience in billing for a medical or behavioral health office.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a Practice Management System.
Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding preferred. Experience in medical terminology helpful.
Details: Parttime position (8-15 hours per week) with hybrid opportunities available. Pay: $19-22/hour.
Psychotherapist
This position is primarily focused on the adult population for therapeutic services; we offer psychotherapy and medication management for adults age 18+. Experience and/or interest in working with the elderly population and providing caregiver support is a plus! What You Need to Be Successful:
Applicants should hold a Maryland license: LCSW-C, PhD/PsyD (Psychology) or LCPC preferred. CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) with cognitive assessment and psychotherapy experience will be considered.
Experience in working with individuals with dementia, including cognitive testing, behavioral management techniques and caregiver support strongly preferred.
Clinical skills paramount, ability to contribute meaningfully to a group, enthusiasm, and ability to work independently are all important.
High level of professionalism and organizational skills required, good communication essential.
Additional Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
Basic computer skills, including knowledge of word processing and the ability to provide automated record keeping on patients.
Demonstrated ability to navigate an EMR
Details: This is a PT with competitive compensation with expansion to FT possible. All applicants with at least two (2) years experience at their current licensure level preferred.
