Coping with COVID-19
Thanks to all that attended the Shore Neurocognitive Health community webinar on “Coping with our New Normal” on April 9, 2020, sponsored by the Eastern Shore Horizon Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. We will be posting a recording of the session on April 13, 2020. In the meantime, please see the resources listed below to help you deal with the emotional and daily challenges you are facing. We will be posting more in the next few days, so please return often. If you have resources you would like to share (no advertisers please) email them to programs@snhealth.net. We will only post resources that we believe will be helpful.
In the webinar, we posed the Six Daily “New Normal” by Linda Graham, MFT. Consider each for your own life as it is today.
Six Daily “New Normal” Questions by Linda Graham, MFT
1. What am I grateful for today?
2. Who am I checking in on, or connecting with today?
3. What expectations of “normal” am I letting go of today?
4. How am I getting outside today?
5. How am I moving my body today?
6. What beauty am I creating, cultivating, or inviting in today?
Coping: Remember to Breathe
Beth Parker-O’Brien, LCSW-C, MPH, leads us through a simple, short relaxation technique of breathing. Beth’s favorite phrase is “Breathing is a Good Thing!” When we are anxious, scared, depressed or overwhelmed, we overlook taking care of ourselves. Join Beth in this practice of slow breathing.
This video is sponsored by Eastern Shore Horizon Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. We will be posting videos on strategies to cope during stressful times.
