There are so many issues that our older clients face: declining health, change in functional status, new diagnosis, loss of loved ones, move to another living situation.  Reactions can vary from acceptance to anger to self-harm. How do we, as clinicians, help them explore and process these changes.  Using a series of interactive vignettes, this live in-person workshop will look at the challenges our clients face, and the development clinical skills to help them be successful in their journey. $30. 1.5 Social Work CEs (MD Category 1)

Friday June 14th, 11 am-12:30 pm Increasing Resilience for Rural Older Adults & Families with Maggie Black, Psy.D

Resilience, or the ability to bounce back, from challenging situations, becomes more difficult as we age. This live in-person workshop will focus on the cognitive-behavioral, emotional, and mindfulness evidence-based methods that have been shown to foster resilience. Strategies to overcome reluctance that some rural older adults may have about seeking mental health treatment and/or employing new approaches to challenges will also be reviewed. $30. 1.5 Social Work CEs (MD Category 1)
